In order to manage fuel consumption for its fleet of vehicles, Supermercados Piratininga network, which consists of five units in the region of Vale do Paraíba and the North coast of São Paulo, has been using Sofit4Transport solution based on the SaaS model (Software as a Service), where the customer pays a monthly fee based on system usage and doesn’t have to invest in equipment, since the solution uses the concept of cloud computing. Directed at transportation companies and companies from various sectors that rely on vehicle fleets, Sofit4Transport offers complete control of the corporative fleet and a solution to manage one's own fleet or third parties'.

In Supermercados Piratininga the solution is used to control fuel expenses and also to maintain the tires of the company's 13 vehicles. According to Oscar Junson Jr., Piratininga network's IT manager, the software controls both the company's directors' cars, and the trucks that transport goods between its headquarters and branch offices, and also the smaller trucks that execute home shopping deliveries.

Used for about three years, the solution has contributed to the optimization of the costs involving Supermercado Piratininga's vehicle fleet. "With Sofit we have all the information to control the fleet, expenses, mileage, maintenance and replacement of vehicles," he explains.

According to Junson Jr., the decision to implement Sofit4Transport was motivated by the solution's adherence to the company's needs, as well as the facilities offered by the SaaS model with cloud computing. "Sofit fits perfectly to our needs," he says.

Founded in 1961 in São Jose dos Campos, Supermercados Piratininga has two units in the city, in addition to the stores in Campos do Jordão, Paraibuna and Caraguatatuba.
