Distributor of chemicals optimizes fleet management through Sofit's SaaS solution

In order to have more and better control of its fleet of trucks, ArcSul - distributor of chemicals - has been using since 2010 the Sofit4Transport solution provided by Sofit in SaaS mode - Software as a Service, in which the customer pays according to a monthly system usage with no need to make investments in equipment, since the solution uses the concept of cloud computing. The system allows complete control and management of fleet vehicles, which the company had to previously execute manually.

At the time the distributor was looking for a solution to reduce the vehicles' maintenance costs, besides having a more precise control of the information of its 7 trucks fleet. Klaus Franklin de Paula Santos, coordinator of logistics at ArcSul, points out that the choice of Sofit was due to the solution's practicality, especially because the whole system was to be implemented through the web with no need to invest in software, hardware and database.

Santos says that the implementation was simple and fast. "In a short period of time we were able to optimize the vehicles' efficiency and reduce costs, especially regarding the work force to operate the physical parts of the system." Other benefits achieved were an increase in productivity and the generation of information with safe and reliable data for the company's decision-making processes.

The solution is used by the operational, IT and logistics departments. According to Santos, in the next six months, the company plans to expand the use of the tool, testing other features offered, besides strengthening the maintenance and tire replacements control. "We have the possibility of extending the benefits already achieved by adding new resources available. By using the application through the web, work becomes much easier," he concludes.
